Still Life

Still Life is a themed version of FotoCopy, an online, photographic variation of the children’s game, Telephone. Players, in sequence, attempt to re-create a photographic still life while sheltering-in-place. Round Table Collaboration will collect images and publish slideshows.

This game involves make-do creative activity and requires at least a minimum of quarantine-friendly collaborative interaction. The technical skills required are: arranging of objects, photography, and email or texting. No experience necessary. All skill levels welcome.

A Definition
A ‘still life’ is a work of art in which the subject matter is an arrangement of (usually) ordinary objects chosen for their aesthetic and/or symbolic appeal.

THE DIRECTIONS

How to Initiate a New Thread:
Collect and arrange objects in such a way that you feel is worthy of a photograph. Remember to consider the background. Take more than one photograph, then choose your favorite. Send it (plus the directions) to a ready friend. Please share the photo with the project coordinator [marty@roundtablecollaboration.com] so that your image can be included in the resulting slideshow.

How to Contribute to Ongoing Thread:
Do what you can to re-create, in your own photograph, what you see in the photo you received. Be as accurate and detailed as possible, while knowing that variation is inevitable, and that variety gives the game its flavor. Send your own photograph (plus the directions) to a ready friend. Please share the photo with the project coordinator [marty@roundtablecollaboration.com] so that your image can be included in the resulting slideshow.
