The Premiere Party and the Coronavirus

LATEST: Monday, March 16

In light of the SHELTER-IN-PLACE ORDER announced this afternoon, all exhibition attendance is cancelled until further notice.

Exhibition imagery will be shared online. Interactive, web-based ‘events’ may take place while the ORDER remains in effect.

I look forward to a Post-Pandemic Premiere Party, whenever that might happen. I hope it will be sooner rather than later, and I hope to see you there.

Most importantly, take good care of yourselves and your loved ones, in particular those at greatest risk.

Please be in touch with any questions, comments, or concerns.

The Postal Collage Project No.9 Premiere Exhibition is on schedule to be installed by Friday, March 20. In the spirit of caution-for-today and optimism-for-tomorrow, the event schedule is again modified.

The limited attendance events planned for consecutive Saturdays are cancelled. All exhibition viewings* will be by appointment. If you already signed up for a Saturday event, you are still on for that date. I look forward to seeing you.

So long as I and my household remain healthy, I will be available to share the show. My schedule is flexible, I work in the building, and my home is nearby, so appointments can be made for nearly any time, any day. For more information, or to arrange a visit, write to marty@roundtablecollaboration.com.

*Hoping for the best, the Premiere Party is rescheduled for the 18th of April, subject to change.

Thank you for your continued understanding. Take good care of yourselves and your loved ones. Hope to see you soon.

In order to assure compliance with current Health Department guidance, the event schedule for the upcoming exhibition is modified.

HEALTH DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION: “Add frequency of an event to spread out attendance, e.g. hold more, smaller gatherings.”

Rather than one, single Premiere Party, I will host multiple, smaller events, each Saturday, from March 21 through April 18. The number of attendees will be limited. Additionally, I continue to encourage visiting the exhibition at other times by appointment.

In addition to being safer for the public health, smaller events offer easier, more thorough viewing of artworks, as well as opportunities for more in-depth conversation.

Please sign up to attend one or more Saturdays by contacting me with your preferred dates and the number of your guests. (Note the differing event times).

EVENT SCHEDULE, subject to change
Consecutive Saturdays
3/21 • 4—8pm, limit 40
3/28 • 6—8pm, limit 25
4/4 • 4—6pm, limit 25
4/11 • 12—4pm, limit 40
4/18 • 6—8pm, limit 25

The exhibition of Postal Collage Project No.9 at the Shuman Block in Berkeley remains scheduled for March 20—April 18. The Premiere Party remains scheduled for Saturday, March 21. The event’s open hours are expanded in order to decrease density of attendance. The new open hours are noon—8pm.

I would characterize the venue as spacious, unlikely to feel crowded even when occupied by three or four dozen people at once. I expect fewer than 100 attendees throughout the eight hour window. That said, I encourage you to read the recommendations from the City, County, and State Departments of Public Health, linked below, and make an informed decision about attending the event.

If you do not attend the Premiere Party (or even if you do)— I encourage you to make an appointment to visit the exhibition at another time. While I very much enjoy the buzz of a bustling event, I also treasure the more in-depth conversations that can be had during an individual or small group visit. My schedule is flexible, I work in the building, and my home is nearby, so appointments can be made for nearly any time, any day.

I expect almost daily updates from the departments of health, and I will continue to monitor them, and update this page. I also expect, and welcome, your questions and concerns.

Take good care of yourselves and your loved ones. I look forward to hearing from you, and hope to see you soon.

All very best,

Marty
